06 gsxr 750 to 1000

hey anyone know if a motor swap from a gsxr 750 06 to a 1000 motor.. any 1000 i have the time so that doesnt matter, i can get a motor that doesnt matter just need to know the materials needed if it can be done

it does not take that long to drop a motor so if u have a 1k motor already then give it a shot..... cant hurt ya

actually i do wanna give it a try but the only thing is i dont wanna get the 1000 motor to find out that the swap cant be done... because its either i upgrade my motor and boar it out to a bigger cc or i swap it out to a 1000 thanks alot though

It will fit, although the upper cylinder head mount is a little different.
You'll need the GSXR1000 harness, ECU and throttle bodies as well.
More trouble than it's worth IMO. You'd be cheaper either rebuilding what you have or finding a good used 759 engine.

im willing to actually do anything to make my bike dependable but since i was gonna take the motor out i was gonna see what i can do maybe atleast make it faster build it up or somthing.. kinda didnt want to just have the same ol 750 but i will take it by one day to your shop as soon as i get someone wit a truck to bring me up there.. either u or andy at metric since alot of people refered me to you guys and you seem to be the guy that knows what he's talkin about thanks alot

no i have a motor i just know that its prolly tore up in the inside i was told its cheaper to find a motor and replace what i got prolly rebuild the one i got after i pull it out and sale it... i know either way to get into my bike and find out the problem they are gonna have to pull the motor so parts and labor is gonna kill me

If you do the 1k swap, make sure you get the harness and ECM.... On the 01-03s, the ECM will plug in and work but the problem is, the fueling is all off AND the rev limiter is wrong.

We put a 02 750 in a 96 F3 Honda(yes honda). After about 6 months, my buddy ran it low on oil and it spun a bearing. Instead of fixing the motor, he hustled up an 01 1k motor and we stuck it in. Well, he blew it up within a week because the 750 has like a 14k rev limiter and the 1k has like a 12k limiter... that and/or the fueling was too far off...

POINT BEING....use the right ECM.
