Not required to drain the coolant, is it? I thought I had read that ethylene glycol based coolants were ok.

If you spill ethylene glycol all over, you are going to have some angry riders...

so you playing Saturday too or what?

Repth, I don't think it's a requirement....but, as an avid trackday rider, I have always run water wetter for the sake that it won't make an ice rink on the track should I crash. I recently had my bike serviced by a shop and they drained/replaced with coolant instead of what was previously in the system.

Here's a noob question. What's the difference between what you're talking about running and regular ol antifreeze, both on the track and the street? Is there any disadvantage to running a more track friendly coolant on a street bike?

Only in the winter if it just happens to freeze. Other than that, it can only help.

We live in Texas. If your bike is garaged(as it should be) you should never need antifreeze.

Water Wetter does not leave a slick as al's surface when you crash and leak on the track. Coolant will be slick for a long time before the surface is sticky icky again. As far as temps, I've never noticed a major change in running temps between the two. Not cold enough in Houston to be concerned with it freezing inside the block.
