BODY REPAIR

HEY, I WAS REAR ENDED THIS AFTERNOON AT A STOP AND MY BIKE RECIEVED SOME MINOR DAMAGE[MAINLY SCRATCHES] TO THE LEFT FAIRINGS[NO CRACKS] AND TAIL. THE GUY WHO HIT ME GAVE ALL HIS INFORMATION, HOWEVER, HE TOLD ME TO TELL HIM IF I KNOW OF SOME PLACE WHERE MY BIKE CAN GET FIXED WITHOUT CALLING HIS INSURANCE.
I ALSO WANT TO GET FIXED MY BIKE ASAP, SO DO YOU KNNOW OF A GOOD BODY SHOP CHARACTERIZED FOR HIGH QUALITY FAST JOBS THAT DONT COST YOU AN EYE? I'VE HARD OF TOM'S AUTO REPAIR SHOP BUT IS IN SPRING, A SIMILAR PLACE BUT CLOSER WOULD BE COVENIENT.

ALSO, AFTER I PICKED UP MY BIKE FROM THE CRASH SCENE IT WOULDN'T START, I ASSUME IT'S THE BATTERY FOR SO IT SOUNDS. CAN ANY ONE TELL ME HIS INSIGHT FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE?

I THNK IT DOES. WHEN I SWITCH THE KEY ON, THE TACH COMES ON AND THE BIKE ALSO EMITS THAT LITTLE NOISE FROM BENEATH THE SEAT WHEN YOU TURN IT ON. HOWEVER, WHEN I TRY TO START IT IT JUST DOESN'T.
IF IT'S THE SENSOR, HOW DO I FIX IT?

Sounds like it's your bank angle sensor (tip over switch).

I'd get the guys insurance and file a claim.

Most people who don't ride bikes don't realize how expensive the body parts are and then start trying to crawfish on paying the damage they caused.

Don't get the parts repaired, get them replaced. You want new pieces. Bring it to a good dealership/shop and gat an estimate to have it repaired properly, with new pieces.

Thats what insurance is for. The guy hit you and should be grateful he did'nt kill you instead of trying to lowball the repairs and worry about his rates going up!
Screw him and his insurance rates! Maybe he will pay attention in the future.

agreed. if someone else hit you, don't go cheap/fast. file a claim, take your bike to Motorcycles Unlimited, and with that claim number, call up enterprise and get a free car rental until your bike is repaired.

it's not gonna cost you a dime but your time....if you're gonna fix it, you might as well fix it.
