Did you run it low on oil?

You better shut it down until you get it checked...Running it longer and longer trying to hear the noise is just gonna tear it up worse.

My guess is you got it low on oil and lost pressure to one of the rods for a few seconds, bearing got dry/hot and spun. The more you run it, the more its going to tear up the crank and rod....Thats if it doesn't lock up and spit out the rod all together(break the rod).. If you do save it before it pops, you will need a rod, polish the crank(hopefully it will polish out, probably not though) and a set of bearings. Thats after a full tear down and internal cleaning to get the metal shavings out..Lots of stuff to check.. Get it to a pro.

I have seen people run em low on oil all the time...its a shame. Only zuke engine failures I have ever seen was from either oil starvation or cam chain/tensioner failure. That or detonation from turbos or spray.
