Anyone ride US191 out of Clifton, AZ

US191 from Clifton, AZ to Alipine, AZ is about 70 miles with over 1000 turns! It is also the least traveled US highway and suppose to take 2.5hours but took me and Grindio about 1.5 hours

This road was insane!! No guard rails, no shoulder and 4000+ft drop offs. A little nerve rattling on some of the sweepers but it was full of 10MPH switch backs.

We started off in Clifton Arizona with is home to a big Copper Mine and they are literally demoliting the mountain. From there we went into a small tunnel that was like crossing into another world. Through the tunnel we entered the Apache Nat Forest and came to a sign that warned us of Big Horn Sheep. Well about 10 ft from the sign there was a BIG HORN Sheep staring at us

Either way Grindio left me in the dust on the first set of turns. I could actually see him across the canyon on the other side of the mountain I couldn't get over the huge drop and was very nervous

We made a stop about halfway in and took some pictures (see below) Then headed off to the top of the mountain. I guess I become a bit more confident because I kept him in my sights most of the time. We saw maybe 4 cars total this whole time and it was literally like a 1.5 hour track day

Either way best road Ive ever been on to date and I hear its on the top 5 motorcycle Roads in the US. Clifton Arizona is a dump, full of coal miners and ppl are living in aluminum shacks on the sides of cliffs. But just a few miles up the Mountain its BEAUTIFUL! Cant wait to do it again

If you can read this, thank a teacher, because its in English, thank a soldier"

That looks like something out of madmax
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

yeah. I thought it'd be like riding with a condescending rossi.
