Google Map's New Functionality: Poor man's route planning

I checked but didn't find any previous posts.

I don't know if anyone has seen it, but Google Maps now lets you customize your route by merely dragging the blue route line to the road of your choice. Then it automatically readjusts the route, directions, and times.

Pretty cool for me since I don't have a GPS and mapping software. I've been wanting this for quite a while for planning rides.

Check it out. It's real easy to figure out, but here's Google's video to show you how:

Try dragging the blue line. It's much easier than watching the cute video.

Wow, that's awesome! It has the added bonus of seeing traffic congestion around the route (which Garmin doesn't have) but still won't load the file to my GPS lke Garmin. I guess I'll be using a combination of the two.
