What is so difficult to understand. I am not talking about you, or CDill, or any other experienced rider. I am specifically talking about OP. If OP doesnt have the skillset to ride ANY type of sportsbike around a track then it doesnt matter what bike he buys. Racer X stated "Fastest bike is the one w the best rider". and in this case, i agree. For all i know, OP is a gotdam pro but from the title of this thread, i would assume not.

Are you being serious? I didnt quote his post to the T but my statement is saying the exact same thing in different words. In fact, i stated it in that specific wording to clarify what i suspect he meant.

Dude.

I agree with you that if you don't have the skill set to ride a bike to it's maximum potential then it doesn't matter which one is fastest... but that's not what Racer X said.

A blanket statement like "The fastest bike is the one with the best rider" is absolutely incorrect.

Stay in the game long enough, take your riding to the next level and maybe you'll understand. Until then, ride on bro!

Thank you.

He posted a blanket statement "the fastest bike is the one with the best rider". which is an exaggerated statement its self. You took it in its literal sense. I took it in a differnt perspective pertaining to OP. And please dont assume that because i havent clocked in the same hours on the track that you have, i dont understand the situation. but... Were arguing over nothing. so im done and im sorry for the quick heated debate

I've got my kicked by less skilled riders on faster bikes.

, it even happened this past weekend by someone on a 2015 R1M.
I hate straight aways.

Before anyone wastes more of their brainpower on the OP's thread, why don't you all run a quick history on him. I can only assume he has not changed much in character since he first started on MH, especially with his starting post on this thread.

After my first few posts and reading some of his replies, I sensed I needed to see what else he has posted on MH... He is lucky if the 750 is still running and he is still riding, but if I had to guess, the OP probably does not have the seat time to responsibly handle a larger displacement bike. You all are arguing for the sake of arguing.

Ok, back to the subject.
OP what are your intentions for this bike?
Road race, Track days, Quarter mile or just cruising?

Already asked this... OP is only concerned with the fastest bike yo!

They had great body lines, great throttle response, well balanced, and made for great show bikes (This is my opinion of course). I also have a soft spot for the 2001-2002 1000's... because they were so sexy to me back in the days.

If you are only concerned about fastest, then IFC's comment was the money shot. Pretty much every manufacturer is trying to build the fastest and most economical bike on the market now. I can put money on Suzuki producing a good contender on their next generation of GSXR's.

This. All day.

Yes, obviously rider skill has a lot to do with making the bike perform at its best. But ultimately, the bike is always the limiting factor. Skill can always be improved, any bike can only be improved so much.

Rossi's not gonna win MotoGP titles on a 600 Katana and Lee Shierts isn't running 7's on a YZF250.
