09' up just a guess.

But they all need a programer to remove their limiter, Id be on the lookout for a new 1K from Suzuki around the corner, ALL the new 1000's have so many performance upgrades stock now and more power.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Is this a road bike, track bike, or are you purely going for bragging rights? I personally liked the 2009-2010's. They had great body lines, great throttle response, well balanced, and made for great show bikes (This is my opinion of course). I also have a soft spot for the 2001-2002 1000's... because they were so sexy to me back in the days.

If you are only concerned about fastest, then IFC's comment was the money shot. Pretty much every manufacturer is trying to build the fastest and most economical bike on the market now. I can put money on Suzuki producing a good contender on their next generation of GSXR's.

The 05/06 is famous for the most beef (most power) from the bottom of the revs up to midrange.

The newest are "fastest" as in, have the greatest potential for modding... but truthfully unless a clone of you gets on the other bike, and you guys start at the exact same second.. you will never know or see the difference.

Get what feels good. Asking "whats fastest" is too vague a question to answer

"which gixxah thou is the fastest?" is exactly the kind of question I'd expect from someone looking to get a gixxah thou

Obviously, the OP is brand driven. The GSXR product line is very popular and can be identified by any regular Joe.

It's all personal preference when buying your first bike. I treated it like buying a pair of shoes. Everyone has a certain style, fit, and balance that only they find comfortable. I suggest the OP visit various dealers and sit on a few of the major brands, then they can make a better decision... like which gixxah iz dah fastest-tiss-tist yo!

How much experience do you have on sport bikes? Have you ever driven one?

The fastest gsxr1000 is a match up of gsxr1000 motors between 01-08. that being said. 05-06 has the best potential overall. After that the 07-08. 09+ have a good top end but can't be be modded as much as previous years

Never mind everything I said...

Just read through OP's past posts...

Buy an H1 from the Army Surplus... they can run on almost anything and take a beating.

Pretty sure he's just into straight line racing. Which is fine if that's what he likes.
