Cruising to the Hot Bike Tour: Day 3
Today the flat and infinitely straight roads of Iowa and North Eastern South Dakota started to break as we entered the Black Hills! Last night in Mitchell was awesome! There was a huge turnout at the strangely awesome Corn Palace and everyone had a great time.
Today was our longest day of riding, at about 275 if you went straight for the highways. Not bad at all, especially when you're cruising at a cool 70 degrees all day. We pulled into Rapid City in groups, all tired but ready for another night of rad custom bikes and good friends.
Unknown, Ind. put on another awesome stunt show. Those guys are insanely talented and always thrilling to watch. Troy Hoff came out second, and scared the pants off of everybody when he looped his bike in a wheelie and slapped down on his back. This dude jumped straight back up and put on one of a show for the cheering crowd.
Scott Kietzmann of Conquest Customs took Hot Bike's win with his custom Victory Sport-Cruiser, and Joey Hensley of Backyard Baggers won the day's vote for Baggers Mag with his big-wheel 9/11 tribute H-D custom.
If you missed Day One
If you missed Day Two
Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what happened on the road during day four, and Sunday to find out who will win the two awesome Build-Offs!
