custom made leathers?

anyone here have their leathers custom made? what brand and how much did you pay for it? what's your thoughts on it? and would you buy another one if something should happen to the one you have now? or would just buy an "off the rack" type suit?

i'm pondering the thought of maybe getting a custom made suit....just seeing if it's worth the dough or not.

all mine are off the rack different brands and fit differently as a result.
I know theres a few guys who have custom suits and swear by them.
I think Komodo also can make your suit to your measurements as well. Patrick knows I'm sure.

Komodo, Z's, or Syed would be my choices. Either that or take a well fitting suit and have it altered to fit.

I don't have a custom suit but I do have a custom jacket from Z Custom and I've never thought twice about the fit or how it wears. But having a relativly long torso I notice the fit every time I put my non custom suit on since it doesn't give my boys much room to move. I've read mixed reviews about the Z suits but their customer service is unmatched or at least is was 6 years ago.

Patrick,
Speak to me of these suits. I like the look of the Komodo's. What kinda price range are they? Are the custom suits a lot higher?

I really like the Vanson products, Syed makes some good stuff as well.
Komodo seems to have a good product, I just don't have any personal experience with them.
If I went custom it would probably be Vanson.

I had a bad experience with this guy, He patched a jacket of mine and took forever doing it. My 8 year old son could have probably done a better job....and quicker.
Just FYI

wow,
that sucks for that guy.
Thats why I'd probably never do anything custom unless it was here in town where I could make sure it was done right, hence my interest in the Komodo's.

i did alot of questioning on my suit on the WERA board, i figure those guys crash enough to have a good idea.

Vanson's was top of the list, but at 50% more cost then barnacle bills who was #2.

B/B is a 1 man operation, literally. so when you call you talk to the owner/tailor/accountant

had mine made w/ quite a bit of perforation, and a hump, also lettering and usa and tx flags on the sleeves. had the calves custom made to go OVER the boots, since my calves are so big that boots won't zip w/ my leg and leathers.

it's been 3 yrs ago, haven't worn it lately. but i was very happy w/ it when i was wearing it more.

$1000

very heavy duty leather, takes a bit of breaking in. i would recommend him. these pics are w/ the leathers inside the boots, i had to send them back to have them go over the boot.
