btw josh, you dont like vista? i havent upgraded, and dont plan to just for the sheer simple fact that its a resource hog. but hows about the "user friendliness" of it? the compatibility of older software (xp)? etc, etc....

I would wait to upgrade. do you remember when win98 came out, problems compounded w/more probs, then win98se(second edition) to fix the problems they created; same thing going on now.


knoppix runs only on ram, boots from cd and uses ram. Really good tool for snooping around in a locked windows machine. Also recognizes flash drives

well i know the first edition is gonna have bugs and holes just like any other first edition of windows. but other than that, how do you like it?

ah yes, pclos has a live cd in which you can run the software off of the cd just like knoppix. if you like it go ahead and install it. i used it when my mom put so many virus' on my windows box that i couldnt fix it in safe mode

only problem with the nix systems is everything is made for windows. like right now im trying to download the new live free die hard movie in perfect quality like its off of a dvd from veoh.com but in order to do so i need to download the veoh software to download the movie. thats where the problems lies. wine wont install it all the way.
