New Beginner in TW

Hello,
My name is Brandon I am 24 years old and live in The Woodlands. I began riding street 2 months ago and dirt for 4 years when I was younger.

I took the MSF course before purchasing my street bike. My bike is a Red 2007 Yamaha R6, I've got 1600 miles under my belt on this bike and I do wear ATGATT. I've been riding the back roads mainly to become more familiar with the bike and to break it in.

I joined this forum to meet more bikers in the area and perhaps join in on some group riding in the next few weeks or so.

I'm looking forward to becoming part of this community.

Thanks for the heads up, I might try to make it but the weather isn't looking to good and I do not have rain gear yet.

I'm close to Woodlands PKWY and Gosling. I've been trying to ride at least an hour or more everyday when its not raining or the roads aren't wet. Weekends or Weekdays it doesn't matter much, I am my own boss.

Very pretty bike! Take it easy with her at first so she don'T bite you and check out some of the track day sponsors we have to pick up some good riding skills. LMS (Buck) has a noob day coming up and LSTD always offers their riding school in addition to the C group. Both have great instruction, 1 on 1 help and video. There is nothing like being videoed and critiqued to get you up to speed.

Before I found that route I would go 1488 > 149 > 1375 but thats usually more traffic and not as fun.

I usually ride in the mornings starting about 9 or 10am after traffic settles and most cagers are working. Makes for a more peaceful ride.

I will definitely look into going to the track, however I have no trailer or truck to transport the bike right now. Is it possible to get the bike prepped at the track? I've never been even to watch. I probably wouldn't want to ride it there and then back after riding the track (for a few hours?). Especially in full leather track gear (that I also don't have).

So it could be a while before I am prepared to hit the track.

hey Tomorrow no rain gear needed, most of us don't have it. But if you want to go just meet up with us. Its going to be a nice paced ride, not to the walls.

Just an FYI..

Track days are no biggy. When you are ready just post up that you need some help getting there and whatever gear you may need. Lots of us have extra space and gear.

Sounds like the kind of ride I need. I'll put myself down for the rollcall in that thread.

Ah well then maybe I will attempt to make it out there sooner. Thanks for the info.

Oh I see, very good then. The furthest I've been is Anderson - I didn't have a map and had to beat the rain back on that particular day. The next time the weather is good on Thur/Fri I'll hit you up.

Apparently you like to ride in the rain too! It was fun riding with you on the Fourth. We need to do it all again. There are a few pictures of the ride under the other thread.
