me and buddha done at least 30 swaps in our younger days.......so i'm no stranger when it comes to civics/integras.
ahhh, the good 'ol days. one reason why i won't get rid of my integra

why buy an automatic shell and do a manual conversion? when you can just pay a few more bucks for a manual shell. it's not worth the hassle in my opinion. if you were to get the shell for free.....now that's another story.
thats the best thing to do.

keep it auto and put a stock 1.6 SOHC motor in it. it'll save you some bucks. just go for all show no go.
problem with that is everyone wants an arm and two legs for the d16z6. it would be too expensive to try to get close to 200hp out of that engine. better off starting with any bseries swap.

Here's the plan of action..

1) Car is a DX - just ran the vin.
2) The Fuel Pump is also done.
3) Got the guy down to $500 - but still did'nt buy it.
4) After talking to a gazillion people, some from here - some shops from Canada to Kansas/LA/HOU/Cali, it seems that staying Automatic is the best way/cheapest way to go. So i'll be keeping it Automatic if i go with this shell.
5) I'm not putting a H22A or B16A2, just a D16Z6 - its a direct bolt on, just a 1.6 Vtec (came in the EX and not DX/LX).
6) At this point, i do think i will stay under $5k.

$500 body, $500 motor D16Z6, $400-500 labor, $800 paint job, nice wheels, $500 for misc/unforseen - and its running, under $4-5k.

What do you guys think?

Read the intial post, its my dream car we're talking about here. I would'nt go for a cheap car that would give me trouble or make me go through alot of hassles - unless it was my dream car.

Sound like a good deal to me (your car), put it up for sale. Should sell quick.

hondas are overdone.

the only way i will ever give props to a honda guy is if he has the to not put any stickers, wings, altezza lights, on it, or if he has the to not spray paint the interior.

even though they are played out, a dropped civic on 17s or 18s look decent, but there a dime a dozen.

as far as dumping over 10k into one... screw that. i would rather have anything other than a civic for 10k.
if i was getting something for 3k or under.. yeah ok.. but 10k and up. no.
