Pearland West prepares for Saturday's showdown with Pennsylvania
Fresh off their big win over California on Thursday, Pearland Little League West was back on the practice field Friday.
Pearland will be playing in the U.S. Championship on Saturday, going head to head with Pennsylvania.
"Last game they were pretty rude to the umpires during the game, and we are trying to not focus on the crowd, and if we focus on the game, I think we'll do good,” said Pearland player Isaac Garcia.
Pearland lost to Pennsylvania 8-4 Wednesday with a massive crowd of more than 35,000 fans.
Pearland parents know they have to be out in full force, and their kids can't let all the outside noise get to them.
"It doesn't matter how many people are there," parent Raffi Gross said. "If it's like 100 people, 4,000 people, 40,000 people. If you listen to what's outside, we're in trouble. But if you focus one pitch at a time, you will not have that feeling."
Meanwhile, social media is still exploding over the win Thursday.
The team was getting tweets from actor Matthew McConaughey and the Astros.
"It means a lot. I mean the Astros are a professional team, and I got a walk-off; it's kind of exciting," Caleb Low said.
