DuHamel to GPs?

Bombshell: DuHamel To Replace Elias For Laguna MotoGP?!
by dean adams
Tuesday, July 03, 2007

Sources in Europe said today that none other than Miguel DuHamel will replace Toni Elias for the Laguna Seca MotoGP event later this month. Elias crashed at the recent Assen race and broke his leg, necessitating a replacement rider for the Fausto Gresini-run team.

DuHamel, a former Superbike champion, may actually be more well-suited to current MotoGP machinery than some believe. Before he raced Superbikes in America, DuHamel was a terror in the AMA 250 ranks.

If this development comes to fruition it could be a major PR boon for Laguna Seca as DuHamel is both immensely popular and a known entity to many of the California and national press.

American sweep possibility?

Nikki's always solid here, Hopper and Colin are both looking good and should do well on home soil. Add DuHamel* and Roger Lee and this could get (more) interesting.

*(I know DuHamel is Canadian)

It is going to be an amazing event for sure. I still think Rossi has something for the field and with Colin in his garage I am sure he won't miss any secrets.

very interesting.....always want to see some of these guys compete in GP. my fantacy pics...... though not necessarily my favorites but in order. if every one were to have a perfect day. for the Seca track........ Hopkins, Stoner, Rossi, Vermulan sp? Just because of the 800cc. if it were the 1000cc my picks would be different for this track. aaaaa you never know till the last lap. but i have my reasons.

Rossi has Laguna in the bag this year... provided Michelin gives him a decent tire. The Yamaha has the best midcorner speed of any bike this year and Laguna has the slowest straight of any track in the GP calendar.

I think Hopkin, Vermulen or Stoner for the win.

Rossi does not like Laguna, he'll podium but i'm not sure for the win.
