Pearland West preparing for semifinal game vs. Pennsylvania

It’s game day in Williamsport for the Pearland Little League team.

Some fans set up their chairs and blankets on the hill at Lamade Stadium as early as 9 o'clock this morning, making sure they have a good spot for the big game.

The Pearland Little League takes on the mid-Atlantic from Pennsylvania so the majority of the more than 35,000 fans likely won't be pulling for Pearland but boys say it doesn't matter either way.

"I normally don't pay attention to the fans and I just try to play my game," said player, Alex Solomon.

Marco Gutierrez says, "It's not distracting, you're just doing your game like ground the ball, hitting the ball, doing your thing."

Wednesday morning the team hit the practice fields early and focused on hitting and fielding.

Tonight's game is Game 3 for them.

If they win, they automatically play Saturday in the U.S. Championship.

"We got a really good practice. We like to do our game day routine which is a little less than what we do on an off day. We stretch, we throw a little bit, we go base to base. We hit them some and then they hit on the field, that will give them some confidence hopefully," said team manager, Andrew Solomon.
