started out wet but, as always, turned out to be a good day. The rain stopped, the track dried, and the riders had a blast.

how come you didn't go?

Glad you guys had a good day.
That's how most TWS (Texas World Speedway) wet weather turns out.
That track holds bad weather pretty good.

It was kinda difficult to ask a day off right after my vacation.
Of course, this was when I thought I had a job.

What is it with track day weather this year?! The
last 3 TDs I've been to all were shortened by rain.
I went to the shindig at MSR this past Saturday and
once again we were punked by the weather. When my
alarm went off this morning I woke up to lightning,
thunder and pouring rain. I checked the weather online
and it didn't look very promising so I decided to cut my
losses. It was bad enough to lose out on the Ty Howard
school but it didn't make sense to burn a vacation day as
well. I went in to work only to see the rain stop and the
sky begin to clear somewhat around 12:30. It didn't rain
for the rest of the day. :BangHead:

For the 14th & the 21st I've decided
to bring..................a shrubbery!!!!!

Was an awesome f`ing day. Not enuff rain as i would have liked, only a few hours in the morning.

We got like 4-5 sessions in the dry (best soo far this year! ).

TWS (Texas World Speedway) dries up really well, so the track was back in action pretty quick.

We had a decent turn out, few run offs - mostly gsxrs

Nice to see the MotoHouston Peeps out there.

Jimmy - missed ya dude, today was fun!
Fabian - hope it helped, remember rail through 1.
Kayla - looking good girl, just make sure to check your gas every session since your on a honda
Tae - WTF? I was looking for an asian loud girl jumpin every where, did'nt find u any where! :eh:
Mike - thanks for helping me load my bike, i need to fix the darn trailer! :eh:
Tony - you lose, i win. :laughing6

In all n all - i got 165ish miles done, couple laps in level 4, most done in level 2.

PS: RIP to Ty Howard's Grandma, he was unable today for his class as he had to attend his Grandma's funeral, may she rest in peace.

Sorry dude, I should have said hello. I was in Level 2 w/ you. I was very glad to see the guy that pass you and left his paint on your fairing didn't end up putting you down. Typical of a a "drying" TWS (Texas World Speedway) track. Guys forget the track is still green and get all idiotic w/ their passing.

I have to admit that it didn't look very promising at the start of the day. But, I got in 2 wet sessions, worked on some throttle control (more than I can say for the 2 people on liter bikes that highsided in the rain...:BangHead: )

Once the track dried, I was able to get in some decent laps and level 2 was actually able to stay pretty spread out (always an issue in beginner and intermediate groups as you all know).

On the tire subject, my Diablo Corsa 3s absolutely friggin rocked. I felt as confident on them as I did last time I ran BT-002s. They also allowed me to have a blast in the wet as well. I also have enough rubber on the rear for at least 2 more trackdays. (you can't say that for many tires on an RC51 on the track)

Edit: I should add to the tire remark with that I am in no way saying that the Diablo Corsa 3s are better than BT-002s per say. Just that I felt very confident on them. If I was entering a race and I had to choose between the 2 I would choose the BT-002 hands down. But for a trackday, the Diablo Corsa 3s were absolutely fantastic...

There will always be a next time to meet & greet.

Yea, i'm not sure what that guy was thinking. He was on a GSXR1000 so he should have passed me on the straights, he would come really close in the straights on my , but through the turns he'd manage to lose the space again, then again on the straights he was gunning it, then again in the corners he would lose it. I felt him doing that 2 whole laps! Then finally in 7, i guess he forgot to brake or something and slammed right into me (right side), leaving his boot marks on the engine casing, his red front fairing color on my yellow tail section and rubbing both of our elbows, shoulder, knees, etc. Everything was fine, but when our handle bars collided, is what freaked me - it through me into one of the biggest tank slappers i have ever experience. Since i did'nt have a steering dampner, i had to manually control it. But in the end it all went good.

He apologized personally again and again. It was his first time out there and he came with the Lone Star Triump Guys or some group like that.

Hopefully this wont happen next time.. :notworthy
