Pearland West talks to ESPN about Little League experience

The Pearland Little League team had the day off but that didn't take them out of the spotlight.  KPRC 2 News was there as they walked to the ESPN set right outside of Lamade Stadium in Williamsport.

The team is getting a lot of attention now as they haven't lost one game so far.

“They texted me last night and said 'Does your team want to be on SportsCenter?' I said, 'Boys do we want to be on Sports Center tomorrow?' And they were like, 'Yes,'” said Andrew Solomon, team manager.

The entire team got a chance to talk with the ESPN anchors about their experiences.

Some of the boys say it's surreal that people are asking for their pictures and autographs.

"It's very fun, exciting and inspiring to know that people come out and watch and actually know you,” said player, Ryan Farmer.

Doug Finniff and his wife brought their two young boys to Williamsport so they could watch the games in person. The kids waited in line to get a couple of baseballs signed by the team.

“They're both really into baseball and to see it at this level and how the kids are very appreciative of all the fans and they do everything the right way,” said Finiff.

The boys from Pearland spent the rest of the day with their families in town and will hit the practice fields Tuesday; one day before their next game on Wednesday night.
