sO mY bIke iS sAlVaGe?

Long story made short. So my neighbor backs into my bike, I call his insurance and I take bike to stubbs. Insurance calls me and says total loss:laughing6 I was like :confused2 WTF? It was just scratched.. not even...just cracked the front face thing, scratched the back, and little things like the blinker.

So they want to give me the bike and some $ or just $ Whut to do?

Definitely wrong section...but interesting story.

If you're a racer, take the offer and use the money for make it a track bike. Otherwise, let them keep the bike & pay you for a new one.

keep bike and take whatever money they give. then you just got a track bike for 1000 dollars and a nice down payment on a new bike that should have your payments around $100 a month. thats what i would do track or stunt that gixxer out.

I work at stubbs. The bike is not that bad, but it is scratched on both sides. All the little things add up. You have the option, of only fixing what you want to keep the bike.

you said you are a noob... I would suggest you keep the bike, take the money and buy the gear you need to get into trackdays.
Your skill level will improve in a safe enviroment and there is not a person on this forum that wouldnt help you in any way to get started or get better on track.
PM me and I will help, if ya want.

This is the right answer! Don't just except they're first offer. Make them pay you more for your bike tell them the amount you have in mods., and then offer them less to buy it back. They will negotiate. If you don't think you can pull it off ask someone to do the negotiating for you. They are useing stock Suzuki prices on parts and labor and you don't have to do all that.

Then take the bike do a little patching up on it enough to make you happy and ride that sucker on the road or where you want to.

Not true. They have a form that they could filled out and send it to Austin. If it is 70% or more of damaged value, they could filed it salvaged.
