Pearland Little Leaguers practice, rest for Sunday's LLWS game

When the Pearland Little League takes on the Sweetwater Valley Little League from California Sunday afternoon, team manager Andrew Solomon knows his boys have to be sharp.

"They hit the ball really well so we’re going to have to figure out a way to shut them down with our pitching and our defense," said Solomon.

Saturday afternoon Pearland West spent a couple of hours on the practice fields and focused heavily on batting.

The boys did not have a game Saturday, so they were able to rest up a little.

"They’ve earned a little fun time, they had a bunch of fun yesterday, signed autographs, took pictures, hung out and watched a lot of games," Solomon said.

While the players are ready, the parents are too.

"Today’s been kind of a chill day and of course we're out here to see the boys practice and then just waiting for tomorrow, and I’m sure it’s going to be another crazy and intense game,” mother  Lily Garcia said.

Sunday’s game is set for 2 p.m.
