Yes and make sure it's in the previous owners name. I believe there is a sticky about this somewhere

Title and 130U will suffice.

Check those VIN numbers!!! Make sure the VIN is not on an aftermarket plate, make sure VIN matches title, and run a history on the bike (no liens, no wrecks, no salvage title)... also, google a picture of what the VIN should look like for that make/model... if the bike was stolen and cleaned, the stamped VIN will look nothing like the factory stamp.

GL!

Also, if the frame had been powder coated and you cannot verify the VIN, but you really like the bike... put down some cash, and wire brush the coating till you can read the VIN clearly. If the VIN is not what it is supposed to be, take your money and run!

Looks good. He probably financed the bike and just paid it off, that's why there is a record on the loan/lien. Most banks will keep the title until you pay off the vehicle and then release it to you afterwards. You can also tell if it has a lien because the lienholders name will be on the title. If that area is blank, then there are no lienholders on the bike.

GL!

Yeah make sure lein is signed and stamped on front of title, and ask for letter of lein release if you are still unsure.

form 130-u and signed title plenty, but if you are really paranoid a POA is a good insurance policy.

Make sure you have the current owner fill out a Statement of Facts form, explaining why he did not register the bike after purchasing it and that you are buying the bike from him knowing this. You might want to dig deeper on why the bike has a loan/lein on its record... if you haven't bought this bike just yet, you might want to find another bike with less hassles... unless you are deeply in love with this bike and its a rare type or something.

Told owner I pass due to his name not on title. From 16kmileage to 26kmileage meaning he been riding dirty and I do not have time to deal with all the bs. I work 72 to 84 hours a week so F that.

But did found another cbr for 500$ more, one year newer, white color,8k mileage, clean title with current owner name and tags are up to date. Picking up next week when I come back in town.
