Astros' Carlos Correa shows up at Texans practice
Houston Astros rookie phenom Carlos Correa got an invite to Texans practice and walked through the gates a little after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Correa was immediately mic'd up by the HBO "Hard Knocks" crew. He posed for pictures with Texans defensive star J.J. Watt.
Notes from Tuesday's practice:
QB Brian Hoyer had a nice patient fade to the corner to Jace Davis, then underneath throw broken up, then sideline throw nearly picked off.
Hoyer with a really nice throw to D. Johnson out of the backfield in stride, allowing Johnson to turn upfield.
Fantastic throw on deep ball to Nate Washington down the right sideline.
QB Ryan Mallett also looked good in 11-on-11's -- very patient and effective, just like in Saturday's game.
Referees were on site again, working the practice and flinging their yellow hankies.
Jadaveon Clowney worked similarly to Monday -- individuals, stretching, walk-throughs and position drills.
Jumal Rolle got a cut above his right eye during some special-teams drill work, left the field and practice early.
Later in practice during 11-on-11 with the first unit, Watt busted through the line and drove through Alfred Blue, who had gotten the handoff. Upon impact, the ball came flying out. As soon as Blue rose from the turf, he took his lap for a fumble. The crowd of fans definitely got as loud as they were all morning.
