Dude, I renewed this year and checked the site I linked BEFORE I went to the DMV. Is it really that hard to find on the web?

No . The highest interest I've ever seen was with HSBC when they were paying out 5% on their internet savings accounts back around 2007, but those have dropped down to about 0.65% or so now (maybe less, I don't have money with them anymore), and my current savings accounts are at American Express at 0.90%. I typically check rates about every 6 months and move accounts accordingly, but AmEx savings seems to be the best I've been able to find over the last couple of years. My credit union (Houston FCU) savings acct. max pay out right now is 0.06% APR, and for that you have to have $100k+ in an account with them. Obviously not the best use of that money. Even their share certificates (under $100k) don't pay out any better than my AmEx account until you get over 36 months.

Nope, can you start another thread, move goalposts all over the field, and reveal more things you're ignorant of that should be common knowledge?

Did I make any claim that most folks can make a living off of bank interest? You do have a bank account, right? I keep some money in a bank as as convenience to me. I pay no fees, not even for my safe deposit box.

The exact amount of what it cost to renew a TDL is common knowledge?

I moved the goal post? lol...try again bro!
You're the goalpost relocating king! how many times have you brought up from other threads that are months old when you start losing the argument?

Once you moved it several times, I said it and move your goalpost.

I outgoalposted your brah. Deal with it.

I do, in multiple banks. Different tools for different jobs. Maybe some day you can master paying your credit card bill through online banking

So how many accounts do you have where you have so much money in them, they pay you to bank with them?

No, I don't have a standard bank account (I use a credit union for all my daily-use accounts), but your indication was that there was some account out there that was actually paying an *interest rate* worth mentioning, hence my surprised emoticon. I haven't seen many banks worth using in years.

Since your reply seemed based on the assumption that I was unaware of accounts that earn interest, I then tried to demonstrate that I did, in fact, understand interest-bearing savings accounts and was hoping you knew of something that might provide a higher yield than what I am currently using.

(...and since we're picking nits around here, I feel like I should point out that there is a distinction in my wording between "bank" and "credit union", as the former is a for-profit corporation and the latter is a not-for-profit financial cooperative.)

Online banking is not common knowledge? First it was "I thought it was $25 but was surprised with $33." Then it turned into "we shouldn't have to renew at all, then to fat rude lady in customer service, oh wait, they're not all fat and rude"

Actually no, it's all that combined and always has been... I just didn't feel like typing all my frustrations out in the OP.

All my accounts are interest bearing. Most of my money is in a retirement account that's not in a bank, but I do like to have access to some cash and I pay bills. How hard is that to understand? Let me help you get started.

Ok, I'll bite, and refer my misuse of the term back to my use of a credit union (which pays "dividends", as earnings are returned to members at a declared rate) instead of a bank (which pays "interest", a declared rate they agree to pay you for use of your money).

Functionally, if they're holding your money, and giving you any kind of compensation, I'm considering them equivalent.
