MotoGP Rear Braking

Iannone USES a thumb operated rear brake on his Ducati. On board camera was pointed at the lever during today's race at Brno.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is? Especially since people have been doing this for a long time and they made a big deal about iannone doing it over a month ago.

Wasnt it Doohan, or Miguel, had Hand operated tear brake? I think that was first of hearing it then. Early to mid 90s??)

Stuff isn't the same as and I'm sure those dudes that get paid told Iannone, "we're installing a thumb operated rear brake and you'd better use it."

Just so I understand. They are pressing brake with there thumb, like a shifter on a mountain bike? Not a pull action like a standard brake. Most hand operated rear brakes on stunt bike work the same as a traditional brake(pull action)

Iannone was pushing it with his thumb like one would for a ATV throttle. That's why it's called a thumb brake. You really can't pull a lever with your thumb. It was mounted for his left hand
