Pearland West raises $70,000 for LLWS trip

Pearland West is going to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn. and the team received some much-needed funding help Friday so parents of the players can attend.

It was all made possible by some generous sponsors that included H-E-B, Pearland Medical Center and Strickland Chevrolet.

"The time frame, it's hard to put it all together," team manager Andrew Solomon said.  We won last night. They told us literally yesterday, 'Hey, if you win, we're leaving Saturday morning out of Dallas.'"

More than $70,000 was given to the team Friday. The Little League World Series covers the cost of the trip for players and coaches. The team is trying to plan a second fundraiser this weekend.
