Texas state law passed a couple years back that if you are not in the act of passing, you don't ride in the left lane. No one pays any attention to it, especially in the city. By the stack of cars backed up behind those bikes in the videos, looks like they had been blocking the road for a while. I would have tired of it as well and looked for a way around, especially if they were doing under the speed limit.

They need some 3rd parties from the cars behind to get involved, to get the true story, but I imagine it was some combo of what has been stated.

But either way, blocking the road like that in what appears a peak traffic hour is just plain assinine.

But we've only heard from one eye-eyewitness.

Anyways. I don't condone these guys taking up the entire freeway or doing wheelies if they are riding in a group but I still think the driver probably insitgated it.

BTW - Kinda looks like a tire mark on the side of the Jag. Hmmm.

Plus, the reporter is obviously biased. Just check out his blog and his comments. He's inflicted with road rage.

No, anyone on motorcycles. People who report the news are supposed to do so in an unbiased manner.

If you read his blog and comments you'll see that this guy is inflicted with road rage. Here's one of his comments:

"I'm not going to cause an accident because I didn't let someone in, in traffic. It's how I feel and it is up to me to ALLOW that person in front of me in traffic. I would like an indicator you want to get in. Those that have their signals on are more than welcome to jump in front of me, provided they are beside my car. I assume you wouldn't like someone to just jump in front of you in a line somewhere without asking. I totally feel the same way. Yes, it's one car, one stupid person. That will not be getting in front of me. Unless they're aggressive enough. I won't endanger my car just to keep someone who just hellbent in getting in this lane. But I'll make them work for it."

Real safe IMO.

Well, I was recently driving with my family, when I came upon some riders doing the same thing on 1960 near 59N. It was only a few of them, but yes they were SQUIDs. They had a female passenger with them, and she was not wearing gear either, cept a helmet. Well, the speed limit is 50 and they were traveling 3 across on a two lane road going 30 to 35... and then one would speed up, pop up on one wheel and ride for a short distance, until he would almost fall over, and then repeat.... they did it for about 5 miles, the whole time a traffic jam formed behind us... :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

I never thought of hitting them, but I did think that they were inconsiderate jerks. I also thought, I really hope these are NOT MH peeps. (Was too busy explaining to my wife why riders like that give the rest of us a bad name, didn't really see what kind of bikes they were on, but did see that they were 250s.) :eh:

Oh, well, anyway, just stating that this doesn't just happen on Dallas roads...

Ride safe!

Perfect setup would to have a camera-cell phone, get some shots...including plates, call the cops and report it. Reckless Driving, I think obstruction of Traffic also... and you've got photos as proof.

I was riding in the fast lane, doing around 80mph and saw a road drum had been knocked inbetween the fast lane and the lane to the right...
so i slowed down to around 70 still 10 over.. and flashed my brake lights to warn some of the cars behind me... next thing i know i got a freakin AMG merc. blowing by me in the break down lane and then cutting infront of me just to cut right back to avoid the drum

after that, forget every cager im not trying to be nice anymore!

What gave you that idea. If I was shot at and had all that done to my ride I Sure as would have wanted someone to be arrested to. Don't understand why you are bringing race into it.

I prob would have tried to pass them too. I can't stand people who hold up traffic. And if they started kickin my car for just that reason. They would have got alot more damage than that.
It those type of riders that make the stereotypes that we have to deal with.

Wow, sound like the dudes I use to ride with in Corpus. 's Angels were wussies compared to them.

Anyway, I have kicked a car when my oldest daughter was riding with me. We were in the far left lane and some lady started drifting over into my lane almost forcing me into the concrete wall. I honked, I reved, and she kept coming. So I just kicked the heck out of her door to get to get the air head's attention. She jumped about a 1/2 foot and got back over in her lane. I don't know if I left I dent but it wasn't from a lack of trying. Man, it was cool I felt like I was road warrior. :icon_bigg

The reason I asked that is because they didn't identify who he was and he sounded to me like some Al Sharpton type demanding justice for "his people".

Sure... its inconsiderate, but its not against the law to congregate on the freeway as a pack. If you've ever seen a large Harley rally they fill ALL the lanes for miles... and they go S L O W !!!

I've seen actions like this in the Baltimore area and during our Hayabusa ride at ROT in Austin. Some redneck in a blue Chevy truck tried running a few of us off the 2-lane highway! The truck cager tried passing in the turning lane and then finally turned off after getting babyoil squirted onto his windshield by another rider.

You have to pick your battles... this guy in Dallas lost bigtime. If he even HAS insurance, I bet they figure a way not to pay for his actions and damages.
It IS against the law to block passage. What they did was nothing more than a gang takeover of a public highway and if you challenge them then you get vandalized and shot at. Do you think it would've happened had this guy been a popo?

He ran a biker off the road and made them crash. Would you let someone get away if they did that to your friend?

You know, I thought about this yesterday and I don't feel bad for the guy in the Jag.

Maybe more people need to take a hint that you need to stay away from bikes on the road. Especially a group of bikes - don't go plowing through them like you're some kind of senseless moron. - we were in an organized group (1 lane in formation) on the memorial ride and still some idiot in a pickup cut right through the pack causing a dangerous situation.
