1 star threads

is there a way that, say, after 10 people have rated a thread, and it remains a 1 star thread, that it could just be deleted? that would give people incentive to rate crappy threads and maybe remove some of the clutter? The same holds true for this one, if I'm off line on this, delete after 10 ratings of 1 star

This seems more like a three star thread. There's always the option to not go into threads as well most can't figure that out. You can even ignore a member even if you don't list them in your sig line like a dramatic little lady.

Yeah, I see that at least one of my recent posts got deleted anyway. I wonder if the report button had anything to do with that one...

Re-rating thread 5 stars.

true... but even that one member MAY have a semi-quality post once in a while.

So if 10 people don't like something, but other people enjoy posting/reading in it...who are those 10 people to dictate what others can/can't do? I agree with green, just quit reading the thread if you think it sucks.

if at least 10 people have rated it AND the average is 1 star. if enough people rate it higher, it wont have an average of 1 star unless its one of yo.... oops, i mean... unless its terrible

I do, but for the sole purpose of letting people know their thread sucks. If they want to continue posting in it, why should I have any say in it?

Why not get rid of the star system and just have a "vote to get this thread closed" button AKA report button?

If my threads suck so bad, quit reading them. But you can't can you? Deep down some part of you can't get enough.

Although I don't recall any of them being actually rated at one star for any length of time, so your system wouldn't have worked on any of mine regardless...this one on the other hand, is pretty dull and not entertaining...yet somehow it has 4 stars. Pretty much, your idea sucks.

honestly thread ratings dont hold much credibility here (or anywhere imo). Its all over the place, too subjective

IE if some new guy posts a great awesome moto video, BUT it was also posted 2 years ago (*gasp*)......it could be rated either way. Theres usually two camps.
