Pearland Little League goes for regional title in Waco this weekend

Remember the Pride of Pearland last year? The team of 12-year-olds went all the way to the Little League World Series and won two games in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, before getting knocked out in a heart-breaker. They made us all proud, and now another team from Pearland is following in their footsteps.

The boys from Pearland Little League West are gearing up for another run at the Southwest Regional Championship in Waco. The guys have been practicing morning and night making sure they're as solid as can be.

"The feeling right now is very focused, like we need to get focused for the next game because it's not going to be a walk in the park. It will be pretty challenging," said player Raffi Gross.

The team's manager, Alex Solomon, feels confident his team will go all the way. We were with part of the team this week as they worked out at the batting cages at The Dugout Baseball Academy.

"We try to keep them grounded and focused. One pitch at a time, one game at a time. Obviously, it's been their goal to -- our main goal is to -- get to Waco to be quite honest," said Solomon. "This is their dream. It's been their dream for a long time."

Finally, there is another bit of motivation for these boys to win this weekend. If they win overall, their manager said they can dye his dreadlocks any color they choose.

If they win the regional in Waco, the next step is the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
