Does he say, "no more iron?"

Maybe they're shooting at iron silhouette targets. If so it's likely that the bullet went through and kicked the jacket back at him.

If it was a .50 BMG, that bullet carries too much energy to be likely to ricochet back. I think it will pretty much penetrate or disintegrate.

Roger that. .50 cal isnt going to ricochet back, the senario of the jacket being peeled off and bouncing back.

My shooting coach has a scar to uphold this theory. 30.06 shot into a steel railroad bridge girder. Lead core exploded on impact, but the jacket peeled off and was sent directly back into the shooter's stomach. Superficial injuries, but crazy none the less.

just got a chance to actually watch the video. Definitely looks/sounds like the jacket coming back and not the actual bullet.

^just dumb. Go ahead and use an iron plate as a backdrop, just lean the plate at a 45 degree towards the shooter. This makes a trap.
