I'm using my sidi street boots at the moment. Haven't taken the plunge on another pair of boots. The trail boots are quite expensive.

Mark, MX boots work best. They have a large range of prices and fits, just remember, you get what you pay for in boots. Comfortable goes a long way when riding dirt.

Thanks for the quick replies. I picked up a pair of Alpinestars Tech 7's for 20% off.

I have an old pair of these, but they are the shorter ATV version, which does not provide as much shin protection. I will probably wear these when riding around the neighborhood.

I'm still wearing my Alpinestars TECH 6's I've had for years. Very comfortable boots.

No takers on that abandoned bike on the Boy Scout trail? Maybe a parts bike or even an ebay parts project before it just sits there for a few years and someone finally sells it as scrap metal?

These boots are ok, but they're worth the $100. I've got about 30-40 hours on my boots and the right sole is about toast from the brake lever.

If I remember correctly it is located pretty close to a power line road that leads to the main dirt road for easy extraction

Wouldn't that be theft, or is there a time limit after which you can have a vehicle legally declared "abandoned" and remove it without recourse?

Probably stolen then left for dead, those Chondas are garbage. Probably worth something to someone though.

Think it's an APOLLO, not sure what size, and key is in it. If no one has come for it by now, think it is definitely abandoned and finders keepers. I'm sure the forestry service would like it removed asap but they don't have the manpower to get rid of it and would probably take 5 years and $150,000 in paperwork and research to do it. Save us taxpayers some money and come get it.

PS: it's located about mid section of the boy scout trail on the straightest part of that trail.

it could just be out of gas, I would come grab it if I wasn't tied up all week.

Your best bet would be to stop at the first forestry gate right by the left turn at the Trade Center and go in where the trail crosses that road, to the right. It will be in a ways and on the trail so you can't miss it. It's almost in the middle of Boy Scout trail. Probably a mile+ in from Trade Center road

BTW: Boy Scout trail is the one you cross when driving down the paved road into the Gulf Coast Trade Center. If you go in there, head to the right going in, longer walk that way.
