Once in a blue moon: Rare celestial treat in store for SE Texans

Overnight Thursday, Houston and southeast Texas will be in store for a rare celestial treat that happens only every couple years, a “Blue Moon.” This happens when we see two full moons in a one month period, which is fairly unusual considering that each month normally has only one full moon cycle.
