TWS (Texas World Speedway) July 25th Trackday OnBoard footage with T10 crash caught

14:20 is where the crash is at.

I was setting up a pass in t10 because I had a better line and im sure I would have gotten around him out of 11 but yeah that happend. Gotta stay real tight in 10 give up a lil speed to stay that tight or you put yourself on a bad line

Other than that just gopro footage of me riding around in level 3.

Anybody catch the bike burning crash?

we were in class and could hear them preaching about wrecking over the PA speakers, came out to a torched bike and a crowd.

It was a blast

Who was the guy on the new r1 in level 1? fly by you on the straights then one hand off the bars in the way going super slow in the corners.

New r1 was flying by you in the straights then went slow in the corners? Is that what you're saying? Next time just pass him?

You got a valid point, in the straights hed blow by you (r1 should do that) but he was all over the place, causing everybody to slam on the brakes and take a way different line. And did pass him, twice, straight would come up and he would blow by everybody, which isnt any problem at all. and then dilly dally in the corners driving with one hand and .

im not going to argue it but i wasnt the only one annoyed

I understand, im on a 600. These newer 1000s 750s etc especially zx10s, bmw, r1 etc are very fast. I just try to remember if im faster than someone around the track then I should be able to pass them. If I can't, I need to become better at passing. If you cant get around someone safely though because of bad unpredictible lines then just pit out for a minute and get right back on the track.

You going to msr houston on aug 8/9?

Check out the 8:55 mark also, its a gsxr1000. I carried more corner speed (shot out the corner faster) and got on the gas sooner so I was able to get around him while im on a 600. You'll get the hang of it eventually though, I use to get pretty at people hauling in the straights and parking it in the corner too.

Its weird, seems like one can carry more speed in T10 to get around guys on the outside but I can never bring myself to do it for fear of not having enough grip out there on that extra wide line. Like the OP it better to give up a little bit on 10 and tuck under them on the exit of 11 or blow by them since most people slow down way too much for 12. I'm going to miss this TWS (Texas World Speedway).

Ya ill get it eventually, getting seat time and improving was awesome, I ran the diablo app, which isnt super accurate, but according to it between session 2 and 3 i shaved off 14 seconds and on my last session i shaved off 26 seconds ( i was trying to reel that 996s in and pass his for bragging rights)

Early on in the day i had made a pass, that your not supposed to do in level 1) that apparently they talked about in level 1.5 but i only heard about it. Came in hot on the carousel and went wide and passed right before leaning over to that next left. Which is passing on the inside. I felt bad about it.

I flew in on friday and on friday night i was riding around the bike in the parking lot. Literally never rode either of those bikes in my entire life, nothing with clip ons either, and nothing with gp shift.

There is a picture on the photography page where it looks like im on a pocket bike, because the bike i was lent was ridden by someone a wee bit smaller than me, i thought id have time to adjust it for me but i really didnt. But the bike rode awesome. Im gonna hafta get me a track bike.

But it was a blast and i guess im gonna haft to take my street bike out to hallett on one of the lapping days.

We will have to do that at Hallett and the Honey Badger don't care.......but it's also not all that fast either.

Ya, I figured that would shut them up a tad. All they want to talk about is top speed, when that really has nothing to do with it.

ill still pass people there depending on the situation if its a race, trackday or # of people I need to pass, condition etc. Depending on how fast they are going and what line they are on. If they are nice snd close to the curbing ill get close to em so im not far off the line and get around em.
