Doesn't look anything like a stuck throttle though...we will never know the truth. Hard to say either way.

^^^ Wow

'The team had to wait until the end of the race for the bike to be returned so they could exam what caused the accident. Together with HRC staff, the team checked the machine, and confirmed from the data that the throttle was 26 degrees open before the crash. It wasn't clear why this happened and now the bike will be sent to HRC for a full inspection.'

It only states where the throttle was before/at the time of the crash. Not that there is any evidence of something other than his hand holding it there. Like I said, there's no way anyone will ever know the truth. Watching the video over and over and you cannot see his hand and position on the throttle, it just seems he went a little wider than he expected and hit the grass. It may have very well been a result of a throttle issue, anything can go wrong, it just doesn't appear that way. You would think one knowing that they were ditching the bike would have let go of it. I know I would have. That may have saved him from breaking things. Either way, it sucks.

Sure, because it's not easy for most riders to remember to release the throttle when they're going too fast. Pretty sure Honda has the data for the throttle position for each and every turn on every lap. I've found most professional racers to be honest regarding rider error, especially if they want to continue to be sponsored. They usually don't publicly criticize the manufacturer.

In this video, you can hear the throttle banging the limiter...in the other one, not so much. So he may very well be telling the truth. FFWD to the 1 minute mark.

The push pull cable system could have snapped the return cable. It would be easy to confirm that unless the bars were ripped off in the crash. I am sure there will be more information later to confirm the issue.

I bet its throttle by wire buddy, seems like a point not worth arguing though.

Because he used rear brake. (or because he didn't use rear brake, either way.)
