I've posted threads about this also. Most of the people on here will tell you there is much better stuff out there. I got a cheap icon jacket for now, just until I can get a better one.

I have a merc jacket for women and I like it. It's ok for a textile jacket. Plus it's water resistant!

I think it looks nice. Right now there are many jackets on closeout through dennis kirk dot com in the closeout section, new enough in the closeout section, motorcycle warehouse in the closeout section, and even ebay through motorcycle stores that are doing closeouts.

I am not too sure what you are paying, but you might find one that is worth keeping longer for the same price if you look around. I have a Joe Rocket Mesh (no where near good quality but better than riding nekkid), leather (excellent quality), and I just picked up an A* T-stunt AirFlo on closeout to replace my mesh and I will be looking for another leather during the height of summer.

Icon is not the best gear out there, its better than nothing though. For the $$$ you'd spend you can find a much better deal.
Check out the sponsor sections here on this website and call around for deals.
Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited can get you some good deals on gear, as can other sponsors.

Icon has gotten better, but IMO is still less protective than some of the other brands available.

We've got a sale on both Alpinestar and Fieldsheer gear right now, which are 2 of the better brands IMO.

As an MH member you also receive a discount on non sale items as well.

Come on by and we can get you properly sized as well as give you a good deal on some gear.
