Sounds good. What would be a good spot to tube near there? We also want to camp.

We just floated the Comal last weekend.. but you have to drive to new braunfels to get there... Its a bad float, not too long and the river was moving pretty good.... But be careful, lots of cops. 2 of our friends got PI's

You can float the san marcos river but its not as good as some of the other rivers.... Im sure there are more places to camp too in New Braunfels, I cant think of any good camp sites in San Marcos off the top of my head

I prefer the good ole guad. Lots of fun, just make sure you take plenty of canned beer. Last time there were cops in the river stopping everyone and checking ice chests making sure there were no glass containers.

as for alcohol there is a ban on the city side, but not on the top of the river, so you can go down with as much alcohol as you want.

Are you serious, since when?

I'm suppose to be floating this weekend, but it ain't looking good. 60% chance of rain for Saturday. River is currently flowing at 1000 CFS, they advise no tubing at 1200 CFS as far as I remember. We usually float the Guadalupe and camp at mountainebreeze.com . They do not enforce night time rules as everyone for the most part stays up partying until 2 am or so (especially holidays, like the weekend before the 4th of July) and it's only 10/person per night + they have thier own shuttle service, rentals and you just get out of the water and bam, you're at your campsite.

There is also a place at the top of the river, you can camp and go around a bridge and just float about 1-2 hrs and get out and float it again. Makes it very convienent, and fun cause you are always around you camp sight. Watch for the cops, they are hard core there. They will walk around the camp sight night and day, the guys next to us got busted with weed, cause the smelled it and it was 4am and they didn't pay to much attention to what was going on. Either way have fun and drink lots of beer.

J
HAHAHAHA, not measured in PSI, it's CFS you dumb dumb:laughing6

we ALWAYS stay at mountain breeze if we camp. if you want, they have 2 man cabins with ac for $65 a night, might be worth checking out. I'll be floating next weekend sat-mon if anyone wants to hook up
