7-16-15 Rear Forward facing video MSRH 7-16-15 1:56's and :55's

Well I broke into the 1:54's Last Week on the Ninja 250 at MSRH. This was video for my personal body positioning to watch, but every lap with the exception of first, and a wide run in one of the last laps were 156's and mostly 1:55's. Had to share I am pumped up that I hit 1:54.8 on the little bike. Sorry about the big shot lol

Reminds me of the rider video that Ridesmart shows in class, where his head never moves off the center line of the bike.

Did good! Have you ridden just that on the track, or do you have a bigger machine to compare it to? If I get to a track day, I think the smaller size would make it a blast.

Yes I ride many different bikes at MSRH. Mostly r6, used to be mainly r1, but sold it recently. Lowest times on r6 has been 1:42's and on r1 was 1:41's

Another good point is being fun. If I had to start all over with track day riding and racing, I would definitely have started on a 250. It's a blast and has taught me so much I could have never learned from riding the big bikes. I started on a R1 and slowly progressed hitting wall after wall as well had many wrecks due to lack of experience. I have also found that the setup is the most important factor to safely run fast times. You can only go as fast as your bike is setup for. If you push the bike beyond those setup limits, your going to wreck your ! The 250's are a blast, and is my new passion. Granted I can run faster lap times on bigger bikes, and run over 96MPH on a big bike, but never could I hold throttle as long, or turn in as late as the 250's. The speeds carried thru the turns are faster than I can pull on big bike. So if you do start doing track days, my suggestion is start small and build up. You can't learn the skills sets as quickly jumping on a big bike as you can the little ones and will help you as a rider later on big bikes!
