about lost it this morning

Left for work at 5 am this morning. Got about 2 miles from the house. Heard a pop. Bikes all over the place. Woobling horribly, like a flat tire on the rear. Manager to hang on to it and get to a parking lot. Lookin around and not seeing anything in perticular. Tire is good. Start sratching my head goin wtf! Grab the rear wheel and holy . All over the place. Look closer and blew out the drive side wheel bearing on the rear. Limped it back home (about 2 miles) immediately tear it apart. I get the rear axle out and bearing parts start dropping. It tore the bearing up and the spacer that goes thru the wheel. No work today. Now hopefully I can find parts for my buell in houston today

You managed to do one of the few things that are worse than working on a Saturday.

What causes that anyways. I've never even heard of that happening.

I'm not sure. I heard of it on the buell forums. But I did have a new rear tire installed last week. They could've done something. Not sure. I won't put it on them. I will just fix it and move on. Not worth the hassle of fighting with them over 50$ worth of parts

You drove 2 miles on it. Might need more than a new bearing?

Something similar happened to me on my daily bike recently... Driving down the freeway and had no brakes. Turns out a front bearing let go and the front wheel had moved enough to push the caliper piston open. Couldn't believe wheel wasn't shaking as I was riding at 80mph lol.
