Need a mechanic for motor swap?

Just bought a bike from some teenager. Has piston problems/piston ring. So I just went ahead and ordered a motor. The motor comes on the 21st. I talked to a couple mobile mechanics one quoted $700 Motorcycles Unlimited quoted 8-1000. Anyone out there willing to do a gsxr motor swap for less? I can get a car engine motorswapped for 300 so this is just interesting to me. Pm quotes please. I don't mind bringing the bike to you with motor. Its whatever is more convinent and less pricey.

Im sure Motorcycles Unlimited would do great work, they're a sponser on here. So try to work out something with them.

I may be down to do it. I need to finish this 1000rr im working on which will be early next week. It is a lot of work though, you do completely break the entire bike down to swap motors. Street bikes are more work too. What year is it?

Do it your self its easy.

I took the rear tire off while the bike was in a front wheel chalk and on a rear stand. Put an old MC tire underneath the motor and lower the rear stand so the motor is on the tire. Unbolt the remaining engine mount bolts and just lift the bike back on the stands or up over the motor.

I think it was 2 old rear tires I used....

Bust out the tools and do it yourself. Everything has to come off that bike to do a motor swap. 800 bucks sounds about right. You gotta pay to play in the motorcycle world.
