Sunday Morning Moderate Ride July 19, 2015

time for a moderate ride lets try to keep this short and sweet i'll go over more in detail before the ride at Bucees.

Some of you did the noob ride last weekend, which was great. A lot of you looked comfortable out there. If you want a little more, come on out. You will do fine as long as you ride your own ride. Again, we'll wait at intersections.

Location meet up @

Bucees Gas station

27106 Northwest Fwy
Cypress, TX 77433

Time(s)

7:45am

8:15am KSU
(Kick stands up), get there early to make sure you top off your tank. hydrate, have your coffee whatever.

Moderate paced, this is not a spirited ride. You need to ride your own ride, dont worry about where the guy in front of you is. If you need to impress him (or her) by staying behind them this isnt the right ride for you. I'll stop at intersection points and let everyone group up, because thats NORMAL in a moderate ride. There will be various levels of riders at these types of rides, but the biggest thing is RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE. 250cc friendly.

Passing is okay, must be done in a separate lane and only in the straights. No passing in the corners, inside or out. Also prefer you finish the pass early in the straight or before the halfway point of that straight.

Wear your gear, jacket, gloves, track suit, boots, back protector, neck protector, mouth guard, whatever you got. But minimum have gloves, helmet, jacket and some good riding boots or some kind of boots that'll protect you please. I'll be in my track suit, full boots, full gauntlet gloves, back protector and of course a helmet. Also please make sure you have a M license, insurance, etc.

Thinking about going out and grabbing lunch, or we can keep it short and sweet so if you all are in a hurry we can just do the ride, head back and spend time with family, work or w/e

Sure you can come out, the noob ride we did posted suggested speeds in the corners maybe a a couple extra mph where appropriate. This ride is not that. though you can take the corners at your own comfortable pace. Then I'll wait at the intersections for everyone to group up and then we'll go to the next road.

Pointers I could throw your way are just making sure your gear, bike and yourself are in good working order. good rest/sleep, good tires (check pressures)/brakes, and good gear etc. Ride your own pace, if you start thinking about how much further the guy is front of you or behind you, you're doing it wrong. just do your own thing out there. chances are you won't even know that guy in a few weeks from now, so why push yourself to chase someone down? Another one is look where you want to go, if you ever make a mistake in a corner, go in a little hot just look where you need to go. it'll slow things down, and you can make it if you just lean into it, touch into the front brakes and look O_O where you need to go.

I think thats the reason for majority of crashes on the group rides. a rider will go into a corner, the speed is fine but they dont believe they can make it, so they'll back out and run off. you need to just say "**** it" in your head and go for it. Hopefully you dont get to that point but just in case.

Got any questions?

I have two choices in mind. One is the same as last weekend.

And the other is, half of what we did last weekend and some other nice roads that are much closer

It all depends on what time everyone has to be back by.
