so does the bladder pop when you crash? if so, now you have a ??? 1/4-1/2 of space where the bladder used to be before the energy absorbing material makes contact w/ your head.

fyi, the bladder is only in the cheek area.

shoei and arai are the top ones. but between hjc and icon, the hjc gives more bang for the buck. icon sucks. i owned one and the day i got it stuff started breaking on it.

If you hate the way all other visors attach, you will love the quick latch lock and the new light sensitive auto darkening visor. Oh yeah... they won't fog either!

The new EXO-1000 has a full air bladder that pumps up like a Nike Shoe to give you a perfect fit everytime.

All those features and less than $200 with graphics!

I like my Scorpion Exo 700 ($200) and it's a good fit for my head... That said not everyone has a long oval shaped head and Scorpion doesn't really carry any other head shapes that I know of. I also have the photosenstive visor. It's good for when you can't carry a face shield but it doesn't get dark enough for comfortably riding into the sun. For that I'll wear my smoke shield.

The face shields will fog after about 6 months if you're riding in the upper 30s and sitting still. But they have a 2 year warranty on the anti-fog.

The Exo 1000 is supposed to retail for about $300. I'm not sure how the air bladder cheek pads would hold up in a collision. I imagine if the impact is severe enough to pop them then you may be having other problems. Another thing it has is an internal flip down tinted visor. No face shield swapping needed.

They're good value for the money. Can't say they crash better than a Shoei or Arai though.

it would take much IMO to pop the bladder, it's only a plastic seam, i can;t imagine the PSI to be very high. so in general i see a flaw in that concept, and the chin area is the most common area for impact on bike wrecks.

I have a Icon and I love it. I used to think Icon was just too showy and did not provide enough protection. WRONG...now I am wearing my Icon helmet track and street and feels comfortable and safe.
