Rescuers search for missing former Houston Texans player at north Texas lake

Rescuers are searching Lavon Lake in north Texas for a former Houston Texans player who went missing after falling overboard Sunday evening.

The Collin County Sheriff's Office confirms crews are searching for JaJuan Dawson in the lake, which is northwest of Dallas. Four agencies began searching Sunday, then started back up at 7 a.m. Monday. Officials don't yet know how Dawson fell off the boat.

Dawson, of Murphy, Texas, was on a boat with three children and two other adults when he fell into the water without a life preserver, according to NBC affiliate KXAS-TV.

Dawson, 37, played wide receiver for Texans in 2002 after being drafted and playing two years in Cleveland. He then played for the Colts in 2003 for one season.

He was born in Houston and played college football at Tulane University.
