Ugggg. I'll never forget in 2000, when I was 24, I was buying a brand new CBR600F4. Allstate quoted me $24000 a year for full coverage.

I have no idea why. Bike safety course, clean record, 5+years experience. Dunno.

I think dairyland was around 1k at the time?? That was back when not many companies insured motorcycles.

Body position had nothing to do with that crash. There's nothing wrong with sitting perpendicular to the seat. I hang off quite often, but unless you're dragging hard parts it's not necessary and does not make the bike turn.

The camera is mounted on the side of the helmet so that's why it looks like that dude is crossed up.

Crash guy in turn one, leans the bike right and a little right on his body; all is fine. He accelerates to turn two and pushes the bike right but stays left of centerline making the bike basically go straight. He was fighting the bike, for whatever reason. He didn't have to get all Rossi on it, but a simple shoulder shift to the right would have saved him or run him just a tad wide, but controlable.

I'll give you the camera position, but that's where I run one of mine and it seems a bit left to me for being a right curve.

I am going with too much throttle, not enough seat time, and he went into scared stiff mode. Maybe it's a new bike for him. That being said I hav run wide(like most of us) but never anything close to that. It's like he was aiming at the truck.

The bike doesn't give a about what your body is doing. The only thing that turns a bike is force exerted on the bars. Perhaps you're not familiar with Keith Code's no BS bike.

Stand up on the seat and see how much body leaning turns a bike.

If the rider in the video had applied more force to the bars, the bike would have turned.

I have deliberately sat crossed up and hanged off the "wrong" side through every turn on a bike coming back to Houston on a trip to Louisiana because I was trying to stay off the center of the rear tire that was running out of tread. The bike did not care. The only thing that changed was the lean angle, period. The amount of force I had to apply to the bars to make the bike turn was exactly the same.
