Exactly why I ride by myself 99% of the time. Too many times these group rides end up being a -measuring contest.

Doesn't matter I suppose, because I'm not cool enough to qualify anyhow seeing as there's no way I'm doing 125 in a 45 corner anyhow. Not afraid to admit that I'm not a moron.

Then you're riding with the wrong groups and probably inside the city

This ^^^ I rode with beevs and it was a good fun ride and I never once felt like anyone was measuring dicks or trying to outride one another . I rode my own ride and made it home just fine and with a smile on my face

There are plenty of others that set up this exact same type of ride

Jim rad used to be the only one I would join for group rides and now that I've ridden with you then it's you and Jim rad . And I've been known to lead a fun easy paced run around Houston and that's always been low key or down low

I haven't been on one MH ride where I felt pressured to ride outside my comfort zone.
We talk a lot of trash on here, but that's about it

Come out and join in a couple rides, you might be surprised the difference in people's persona when away from a keyboard.
Second MH ride I went on someone went down. And many others were riding over their head and got lucky.

Pinball, forgive me, but I'm also not understanding what you mean by capable of triple posted but not actually doing it. I'm capable of and comfortable doing double posted. I'm not capable and clearly not comfortable doing triple posted. So yeah

Yeah, most people seem to be decent human beings in person.

I don't know of many wrecks recently (does Chris's deer incident count?), but when I actually did a few rides per year when I started hanging around and riding with guys from here ('07-09?) it seemed like we had at least one go down every ride. I think my last MH ride was a forest ride to Yankee's a few years back and we had 2 guys go off the road.

Absolutely. I know generally who I am and am not interested in riding with. Plenty of smart and dumb riders in groups and solo. Not suggesting that MH rides are bad! But there are squid rides that get launched off here.

But since April, haven't read of anyone.
I definitely am now. I didn't know better back then.

Sure their are. Anyone with internet access can post a ride. If you're riding with strangers and or the ride leader doesn't set any ground rules in a riders meeting before you jump on your bike, it might be a good idea to just head home.

If you allow the rider in front of or behind you to influence your speed, you should probably not ride in any group.

Don't ride any faster than you would if you were riding alone
