Here's the deal (MH Personals Ad)

I take the bike to work almost every day, but I only get to really ride twice a year. Those two times are hill country trips, and I try to take advantage of every mile...even if it means ~300 miles in the saddle per day. These are only-stop-for-gas-and-food trips. No sightseeing, no photo ops...just riding. The -shooting and beer drinking can go on long into the night, but if the sun is up, it's seat time.

Problem is, these trips have become less and less fun for me because people don't understand the concept of "ride your own ride." The pace is the pace, and if you can't keep up, fine...we'll wait at intersections and long straights. No big deal at all. If you're riding unsafely and it looks like you wrecking is a real possibility, expect to catch flak for it.

Here's where the personals ad comes in. PSHCR (Pinball Seeking Hill Country Riders).

I'm looking for 6-8 riders capable of triple posted (not a triple posted ride, but if you can't do it, you won't be comfortable at the pace).

Riders with bikes capable of ~115 miles per tank at the pace.

Riders who want to ride and are willing to BS at the end of the day.

Riders who will disregard everything above and who will follow Texlurch if he can make one of these rides.

I usually lead these rides in March and September, but I'll be passing on this September. If this is something you're interested in, shoot me a PM, and you'll be the first to know about a March 2016 ride. I'll set up lodging and do my best to arrange travel (I can arrange trailers and tow for at least 6 people, splitting gas).

On the agenda, for sure. Trouble right now is getting the time off to get it done. 10 hours one way, and it'd take at least three days of riding to make the trip worthwhile. I don't have 5+ days in a row to spare at the moment.

i certainly agree the more time the better. but 3 day trip to Arkansas is feasable. only a couple hours more to get to Hot Springs than Leakey. ITS WORTH IT.

you may never go back to the hill country! haha

BTW only 6.5 hours to hot springs.

I'd probably base a ride out of Clarksville instead of Hot Springs, and that's 8.5 hours away with no trailer in tow.

If he's doing 135 around a 45mph corner, I'd say that's a tad too fast for riding in the street...but that's just me

Track day costs almost as much as one of my HC trips with a fraction of the seat time. You, of all people, should understand my wanting to get the best bang for my buck.

My bike won't go 135 in a straight line, so if your post reflects a story you heard it just might not be true.
