Good luck getting a tap through that dog of a weld. Nesto is absolutely right. People get into at my job for welding carbon steel in the vicinity of stainless. You would be amazed at how ugly one side of a vessel will look on the side that carbon steel has been ground near it.

cross contamination will get a job rejected in the blink of an eye , and I can't blame them because if I was paying that much for a product or job in stainless or aluminum or any other exotic metal , I dam sure wouldn't want it with any rust spots or stains

if its just stainless, ducttape the thread minor and just file that away with a small diameter round file till the o2 can seat. no you wont be able to chisel it away


ive got carbide tipped dremel bits and all the tools needed if u need help, located off westpark and westpark dr.
