Im not too much of a fan of the zx14's or the busa as they are both too big and bulky and are only useful in a straight line but id take the zx14 over the busa anyday. Kawi has their stuff goin on.

yeah, the 14 is badass allright, good thing kawasaki decided to finally approach a standard established in 1999 by suzuki.
Im sorry, but you cannot argue with the fact that it took kawi like 8 years to meet their competition.
Just like the ZX10, took kawi a couple years to get a liter bike produced after the gsxr1000 in 2001, and then it still took a year or 2 of development before it was really on par with the GSXR.
Face it, kwak is behind the times as far as the big bikes go ( i will concede the 600 category)

Lol. Yeah actually ive ridden both. Not for long but long enough to know im not too crazy about either of them as far as owning one personally but they are nice bikes. They felt more like cruisers and they are nice and smooth but id much rather take my 10 through corners than either of those big monsters. The zx14 felt like it was much more beasty than the busa though power wise.

the 14 is really more of a straight-liner. it's not really designed to do the twisties... without a doubt though it will haul down the strip!

im not saying the kwak is bad, or sucky or anything like that. Im just saying that it took kwak like 6 ot 7 years to beat the busa, and when the new busa comes out, its prolly going to take kwak another 5 years to surpass that model.
Kwak makes good bikes...just a few years later than everyone else does.
Its like going to college for 8 years and only getting a bachelors, it just takes some people(companies) a longer time to do what able companies (suzuki) can do quicker.

i hear you. they are both excellent bikes. most people that buy either of them don't run em stock anyway. as long as the foundation is strong... and both the kawi & suki are... they can both be tricked out to the limit.

ALL modern sportbikes about 600cc and up are awesome motorcycles, each has its small spot where that bike shines, and honestly VERY FEW of us will EVER truly have the ability to really ride these bikes to their limits, We live in a wonderfull world where we have all these great toys to choose from, how can you really go wrong with any of them?

I believe the zx14 came out in 06 so yeah it was like 7 years before they made a big bike. I dont think they were really focused on making a competion for the busa until only the last couple years. I think they were just more focused on their 600 and litre class bikes at the time. They were dominating both classes up until suzuki finally made some competition for them this year in the litre class bikes. The zx6r is still on top even after getting rid of the 636. And how bad does that look for suzuki that they had 7-8 years to work on the busa to make it better and better and the first year Kawi released the zx14, it left the busa in the dust! lol

Kawi is dominating the 600 class with the new cbr600rr being its only competition and they are also dominating the big bike class with the zx14r. The zx10 would have taken the litre bike class as it has an absolutely insanely wicked motor and almost everything about it is bad . The thing that hurt the 10r was the stock tires. They couldnt push its potential in the shootout so it lost the title but with a new set of tires, who knows. The zx10r is the fastest in the 1/4 miles though and it is much lighter as well. I give suzuki props though this year since they did make a beast of a 1000 as well but the abc stuff is gay and i think kawi would have took the shootout victory on some better rubber.

Comparing the two, I think Kawi has the better bikes but suzuki is obviously more popular because everyone has heard of a gsxr and every noob out there wants a gixxer just cause its a gixxer. Nothing against any gixxer owners or the owners of any other bike for that matter but its just my opinion. Kawi has it right and thats all there is to it.

That is very true... Im just speaking stats in my previous posts but 95% of riders out there that ride the street cant ride the bike to its full potential and they are all so powerful, most of us prob couldnt even tell the difference anyway. Im not gonna lie, the zx10 has more than enough power for me. I can ride it very well and flick that bad boy around but not to its full potential like a pro could. Then again, riding the street doesnt give you much space to do what you really want to do anyway.

the zx12 was a nice bike. couldn't keep the front wheel down though. it was much better with the twisties than it's successor the 14 though.

there is no way that you can bring a 14 up to it's full potential on the street. it has to be done on the strip. otherwise would simply be stupidity.

True! Wasnt the 12 out before the busa though for a good while? I know they had a gap between when the 12 was discontinued and when the 14 was released...
