Roger Lee Hayden to ride third Kawasaki at Laguna Seca
MotoGP 25/06/07
Kawasaki Racing have confirmed the participation of Roger Lee Hayden in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, which takes place on July 22nd at Laguna Seca.

Currently competing in AMA Superbikes, the brother of MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden has been chosen by Kawasaki to ride the first of a possible two races as a third addition to ‘Team Green’, alongside regular riders Randy de Puniet and Anthony West.

Speaking at Donington Park, Kawasaki Communications Manager Ian Wheeler explained the decision to bring Roger Lee onboard.

“We have made the decision to put a third bike on the grid at Laguna, giving it to Roger Lee Hayden owing to his knowledge of the track and the benefits of having a local rider at Laguna Seca,” stated Wheeler. “Kawasaki are not in a position to ride three riders at more than a couple of races; there is the possibility of a further Grand Prix, and if so we will also be using Roger Lee,” he concluded, before assessing the debut of Anthony West at Donington Park and the continual of good form by Randy de Puniet.
This is going to be interesting...

I think Roger is going to finish pretty high, but just like Nicky winning last year, its going to be because of track familiarity.
But it would be cool to see Roger get a shot at a GP ride.
I think he'd try and earn it more than Nicky.
