SHNF+++East Side trails have reopened

Yes, all our hard work clearing out over 100 fallen trees from the MUT system has paid off, rangers have reopened the east side trails by the Gulf Coast Trade center.

Well Done. Going to give it a go this weekend. This could be the beginning of my transition from asphalt to dirt.

Is anyone is going this weekend? Please let me know so I can pick your brains for a few minutes. I'm a 40 something newb without a clue.....

Its easy to get lost on your first outing. After the first few u will never get lost again. Maybe just take short trips out to the trails and back? On the east side there is a trail head called Sandy bottom behind the toilets. That one seems to me to be the easiest and there isnt too many intersections.

wiayeman, google "Old Dudes on Dirt Bikes" . We are riding this Sunday, check out the ODODB calendar. I've posted a slow and easy ride cause I'm getting over an operation I had about 3 months ago and body is in bad shape at the moment. Bring water to drink too. We'll watch out for you and make sure you don't get lost in the forest. PS: free to join the old dudes and join in on any of our rides.

Thanks for letting me tag along. I was completely out of my element, but enjoyed every minute.

I hope to make another ride soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. I have the wrong bike, but I enjoyed it more than motocross....probably since I'm scared to go down hard again.

I made 2 visits to the ground on a 20 mile loop. One caused by a root, another by some deep sand in a corner. Of course, I am blaming both visits on a sniper.....

Hopefully can make it out there soon. I would imagine a CR250 to be a handful out there.

yikes.....just noticed your CR250 is a 2 smoke

All you need is a heavier fly wheel or fly wheel weight and that bike will be fine....
