no hating here, serious adult conversation on my part

terms seem simple, but 1:55-2:00 is a nice pace but a fast rider on the street could probably do that out at MSRH on his first day. Stunting is nothing like riding one the street, where as trackdays has some similarities. Follow me?

You ask me to learn something I have never done, that is correct I dont even do wheelies on the street or track. I have tried to do them, 1st gear power it up and run out of revs. and then come back down hard, balance point, ME? never!

You, I am sure you have rode fast on the street before so you already have some of what it takes.

What you would say to 1:50 on a 600cc bike.

what exactly is a idle wheelie, not idle at 1500rpm, right. You guys crank your idles up don't you.

I don't think 2:00 min or even 1:55 is reasonable at MSR. I'm 50 and I was doin 2:01s my 1st track day on a FZ1. Not a track bike at all.
On the other hand doin a idle wheelie is not somethin that even Clayton himself :notworthy learned to do in 3 hours.
Why even bring this up with so much attitude? Be a stunter, be secure in your skills. Any one that doesn't respect that is ignorant of the effort and sacrifice it took to be good at it.
Or be a trackstar and (same same).
Or do both. Who cares?
I will say this... Clayton, far as I know no one has said they could learn a idle wheelie in 3 hours. You are the one who said you could do some undefined fast lap by the end of the day.
Well, step up. You made the claim, come on down. Are 1:50s in your future?

Yeah I picked it up quick I dont see catching idle in one day no matter how many times they wreck. There are stunters out there that cant even catch idle.. Idle is boring anyway coaster circles is where its at

throttle control to power out of the corner, when exiting corners you should be at the edge of adhesion of the rear tire, insane amounts of throttle control needed and experience to get the bike there and keep it there, otherwise you highside and land on your head.

body "english" for turns, sit forward or back in the seat depending on the corner, corner speed, and the bike. moving around changing handling characteristics slightly but enough.

downshifting techniques and blipping throttle. harder than it sounds to match rpms when coming into a corner at 140mph down to 90 and dropping 2 gears smoothly. takes practice.

drafting behind the guy in front to make a pass.

setting up behind the guy in front of you to safely get around and make it stick.

braking techniques, there s a fine line with braking adequately and braking at race pace. at pace, your back tire is barely skimming the ground and moving around on you because the rear end wants to come up. take control to balance that.

I will be learning all that hard stuff...

all you gotta do is a Idle wheelie.. and i'll do a 1:55

or i'll do a 1:50 and you do a no handed idle wheelie
