i'm not familiar with that side of town, so i got a ticket going 63 (the prior speed limit was 60)....in a workzone 45mph....i didnt see the sign.

i have to see judge foster before 7/30/07

ive already taken def. driving this year, so what do i need to do to get the ticket dismissed?????

is this judge "by the book"....or more easy going????

I dont think that judge is a "real" judge so i think he goes by the book.

Was this during the day while they were working? If not they may take it easy on you.

a small town and you think your going to get off?? good luck with that!

once when i was in high school, went to galveston to eat before our senior prom, got a speeding ticket in Surfside. paid the fine. fast forward about a year, got a phone call saying that i never paid the fine, told them i did and hung up. calls kept coming, i kept insisting that i had paid the fine.

they called yet again and told me that if i didnt come down there they were going to come and get me, that all they needed was my testimony, it seems that the "judge" was a crooked , he had put me down for a defensive driving class and put the money in his sorry assed pockets, i wasnt the only one who he did this too, so they finally figured him out.

never did hear what happened to him, probably a slap on the wrist.

I just looked that up. At one point it was every six months. They change that stuff too much.

Only if stated that way specifically. It can be either way unfortunately.
Also alot of courts will not do defered pro. on a ticket that is in schol zones, work zones, etc. Not familiar with that area or that court so I can't say for sure. I always use an attorney, it just makes it alot easier. I still have a clean driving record, it's worth the money.

think the cop may be mistaken. I think u can take DD as many times as the judge will allow, every 6 months the norm but up to the judges discretion(SP)
construction zones means the fine is double if workers are present. standard fine if not. I would ALWAYS fight the ticket no matter what. call the # on the ticket and ask the clerk your options. Some places u don't have to go before the judge to Get DD or defered. call and ask

get a lawyer they get the speeding and most other tickets dismissed 95% of the time. if you got busted in baclif then you got busted by either a texas city cop or more then likely a galveston county sherrif deputy... you get popped at 646 and 45?

None at the moment..... :-(

Just to emphasize on what train460 said, it is up to the courts discretion, but yes, in most cases, you can take deffered. Trust me. I got a ticket in pasadena one year, took deffered, they said no tickets within 90 days, I got another one going down 45 through League city, within those 90 days. When I went to report the last day for my first ticket, they said I had not gotten any and was free and clear. Then that same day I had to show up in court for the second ticket....

And yes, I took deffered again....:laughing6

Needless to say, I got off on both of them.........WITHOUT A LAWYER!!!
